“HAH! You're gonna race ME?! You don't even have fins! Fork rocks!”
Fork, The Legendary Starfy

Fork is a small blue fish and a friend of Moe and Starfy who often challenges Starfy to mini-games and events. He always has a grumpy look on his face. He is also very arrogant. Once he went on The Moe Show and he claimed Moe's talk show to be his, frustrating Moe enough to kick Fork out. In the GBA games he has a a brother and they constantly tease Moe by attacking him.

Fork used to be classed as an enemy in the first four games in The Legendary Starfy series but he was reclassified as a Friend in The Legendary Starfy, presumably because he is an interactable character in that game who plays with Starfy in the Race with Fork and Shuffle Fork Side Quests and cannot be defeated.

In Densetsu no Starfy

In Densetsu no Starfy, either Fork or his brother is seen at the beginning of Coral Coast, swimming away. Starfy follows him and he goes through the bottom-most door. When Starfy catches up with him, he then goes through another door in a random direction. This leads Starfy to a room where Fork is picking on Moe with his brother. Starfy must defeat both Fork brothers with a Star Spin in order to talk to Moe and advance to the next room.

In Densetsu no Starfy 2

Fork and his brother are seen in one level of Yeeha Alpine (Stage 7-3). Taiblond leaves behind a photograph that shows one of the Fork brothers near a wall. Starfy hits the wall with a Star Spin revealing a door that leads to a room where Fork and his brother are picking on Moe. The older Fork brother asks if the younger brother came to eat Moe, to which the younger brother replies he did. Like in Densetsu no Starfy, Starfy must rescue Moe by defeating both Fork brothers with a Star Spin.

In Densetsu no Starfy 3

Fork can be registered in the Trading Cards in Crushed Ice Alpine (Stage 4-4) as one of the Rare Enemies only after beating the game.

Unlike Densetsu no Starfy and Densetsu no Starfy 2, finding Fork and his brother in Densetsu no Starfy 3 is optional. They can only be met in a single room of in a room where two of the Konbi used to be. As usual, Fork and his brother are bullying Moe and Starfy or Starly has to defeat both of them with his Star Spin to save Moe. To add Fork to the Trading Cards, Starfy or Starly must defeat either one of them and doesn't have to beat both of them. If both of the Fork brothers are defeated and the player exits the Area, they won't appear again.

In Densetsu no Starfy 4

In Densetsu no Starfy 4, Fork appears in the story as an enemy in Lobber's Villa (Stage 1-2), where Moe asks Starfy to catch him. Fork will run away from Starfy, and Starfy must first block his path in order to stop him in his tracks. If Starfy touches Fork he will lose 3 health points. Starfy must use his Star Spin to break the chain attached to a large metal ball to corner Fork, and then use his Star Spin to defeat him. Fork appears in the Picture Book as entry #008.

In The Legendary Starfy

In the The Legendary Starfy, Fork appears in two Side Quests; "Race with Fork" and "Shuffle Fork".

Side Quests

Race with Fork

"Race with Fork" (No. 2) is the first Side Quest he appears in, found in Gluglug Lagoon (Stage 1-3). In this Side Quest, Fork challenges Starfy to a race. Finishing before Fork grants access to Area Secret 2 in Gluglug Lagoon.

Shuffle Fork

"Shuffle Fork" (No. 22) is the second Side Quest he appears in. It is found in S.S. Logwater (Stage 7-4). In Shuffle Fork, Starfy must find Fork in a treasure chest 3 times. Accepting the challenge frustrates Moe, who rather prefers that Starfy 'leaves it to him' and takes care of Mega Snark. There are three treasure chests, two of which do not hold Fork and are meant to catch Starfy out. Choosing the wrong treasure chest causes Starfy to fail the challenge. Each time, the chests will shuffle. If Starfy succeeds, the player gains access to Area Secret 3 in S.S. Logwater.

Toy description

"Fork thinks he's Starfy's rival. Don't tell him that there's no contest. No matter how good a swimmer he may be, he can't hope to ever beat Starfy!" (#106)
