The title screen (Japanese: タイトルがめん) also known as the title (Japanese: タイトル) is the screen in The Legendary Starfy series where players can access the File Selection screen and in The Legendary Starfy, connect to Local Wireless to join in Team Play mode. In games prior to The Legendary Starfy, it normally follows an Opening but The Legendary Starfy goes straight to the title screen after the Nintendo and Mobiclip Video Codec logos.
The music that plays on the title screens, Tone of Ocean (called Title Song in The Legendary Starfy), is the main theme of The Legendary Starfy series.
On the title screens in Densetsu no Starfy 4 and The Legendary Starfy, the player can tap a character on the Touch Screen to view different actions or poses.
In Densetsu no Starfy 4, the characters are Starly, Starfy and Moe. After beating the game, the music on the title screen will change from Tone of Ocean to Tone of Ocean Funky, Starly and Starfy start to wear black and red afros with blue (Starly) and black (Starfy) sunglasses and Moe starts to wear a hat with a mustache and glasses. Starly's afro (the black one) has a yellow star in it. These objects can be moved around by dragging and dropping them on the Touch Screen. The new title screen will change back to the old one if it is reloaded and vice versa.
In The Legendary Starfy, the characters are Starfy and Moe or Bunston (the player has a chance of viewing the other character by reloading the title screen). After beating the game, Starfy starts to wear sunglasses on the title screen and in the Japanese version, the voice that shouts 'Nintendo!' before the title screen comes up may be longer.
In the Game Boy Advance games, similarly to the Nintendo DS games, beating the game unlocks an updated title screen with all the characters wearing sunglasses and the player can alternate between the new title screen and the old title screen by reloading it. The player cannot interact with the characters on the screen due to the lack of a Touch Screen.
Trivia
- In Densetsu no Starfy, there is a seemingly unused variant of the Opening Demo tune without the background percussion that is also quieter.
