Pearl Sprites (known in Japan as Pearl Keepers) are gray haired fairies in green dresses that live inside giant red flowers. Whenever Starfy or Starly attack them they'll give them many pearls. The player can do this two times but if done a third time the Pearl Sprite will be defeated like any other enemy. A Pearl Sprite also appears in Big Bossdown where she appears after every boss battle to restore Starfy or Starly's health. In the Game Boy Advance games and Densetsu no Starfy 4 they may also throw spikes other than pearls.
In the Game Boy Advance games, there are enemies known as Mandogora which resemble a green Pearl Sprite when they are closed up. Both Pearl Sprites and Mandogora are Rare Enemies in the Game Boy Advance series. Pearl Sprites are also a Rare Enemy in Densetsu no Starfy 4.
Location in Densetsu no Starfy
After beating the game, if Starfy meets Himandodo and clears his minigame Toretore Fruit on hard mode, he will lead Starfy to a room with a Pearl Sprite.
