Official artwork of Starfy, using his Star Spin attack from The Legendary Starfy

The Star Spin (Spin Attack, スピンアタック in Japan) is Starfy and Starly's main attack. Starfy/Starly spins around to attack enemies or break barriers. If they spin too much, though, they'll get dizzy. and they can't move for a few seconds. If the player moves the control pad around, their dizziness time will shorten. Starfy's Star Spin can be upgraded to Mighty Star Spin then Ultra Star Spin later in the games.

Varieties

This Star Spin can break blocks without being bumped, but Starfy/Starly move slower while using it. It is used on land even after Starfy upgrades to Mighty Star Spin and Ultra Star Spin. Starfy can also still use it in water if he spins without moving.
