The Gluglug Lagoon Map from The Legendary Starfy

For other uses, see Map (disambiguation).

The Stage Maps (Japanese: マップ, Maps[1]), as they are known in Densetsu no Starfy 2 and The Legendary Starfy, are screens where the player can select Areas in the The Legendary Starfy series. They are not featured in Densetsu no Starfy because the Stages themselves are levels, so the Stage Select fulfills its purpose.

Densetsu no Starfy 2

In Densetsu no Starfy 2, the player can use the D-pad to move Starfy across different area points when revisiting a Stage after beating the game. Prior to completing the game, completing an Area causes Starfy to move on and the previous Area to be crossed out. Like in the Stage Select, the player can press the L button to go to Lovely's Shop or the R button to go to Moe's House after they are unlocked, or the Select button to go to Stuff Selection screen. Lovely's Shop is its own area point in Lobber's Cave, as well as Moe's House in Turtle Turtle Land.

Densetsu no Starfy 3

In Densetsu no Starfy 3, the term is known as the Area Select screen (Japanese: エリアセレクト画面[2]). It is not actually a Map as the player simply selects levels without Starfy moving around the screen across different area points.

Densetsu no Starfy 4

In Densetsu no Starfy 4, the screens are referred to as Cities (Japanese: シティ) and each Stage has a map screen which is referred to "(Stage Name) City" in the Sea Jams, even if the Stage isn't a City. For example, Hidden Village of Koimaro is known in full as "Hidden Village of Koimaro City", even though the name of the stage specifically refers to a hidden village - remote villages where ninjas were said to live. The player can tap characters on the City for Pearls.

The Legendary Starfy

In The Legendary Starfy, the player can press the A button (or tap the Area icon on the Touch Screen) to select individual Areas. If the player has unlocked a Side Quest, he or she can go straight to it by pressing the X button. Unlike previous games in the series, the top screen displays a name for each Area and an associated icon, however the ???? Areas and the Areas in ??? (Stage 10) all share the same names; "????" and "Time Attack!", respectively.

The player can press the L button to save, the B button to the The Big Map, or the R button to view Moe's Case.
