The Ukizzu are three monkeys that only appear in the Game Boy Advance games. They are usually in a hot spring.

In Densetsu no Starfy

Making their first appearance in this game, the Ukizzu show up in the Sea of Ice stage, where they are bathing in a hot spring which has begun to freeze, leaving them trembling, and also blocking the path to The Jellato Sisters which the heroes are trying to save. Starfy has to retrieve three separate pairs of Konbi to heat up the hot spring the Ukizzu are sitting in to proceed with the game.

In Densetsu no Starfy 2

In Densetsu no Starfy 2, Puchi Ogura #4 attacks Moe in level 5 of Slippery Ice Alpine and freezes him inside of an ice cube. Starfy escorts Moe to three of the Jellato Sisters who then find a hot spring with the Ukizzu bathing in it. The three sisters then throw Moe into it after the temperature of the pool increases and the Ukizzu flee, thawing him out.

Trivia

  • The Ukizzu are based off of real life Nihonzaru, monkeys that bathe in hot springs.

Name origin

  • Their name is likely a portmanteau of the Japanese words ウキー uki and キッズ kizzu. "Uki" is an onomatopoeia for the sounds monkey make with their mouths - similar to "ooh-ah-ah" in English. "Kizzu" is a loan word of the English word "kids"; much like in English, it is a colloquial term to refer to children.
