Goals (Japanese: ゴール) are objects that are found at the end of Areas; they are not boss Areas in Densetsu no Starfy 3 and The Legendary Starfy. They look and act differently between the two games, although both take the player back to the Map or Area Select.

They do not appear in Densetsu no Starfy, Densetsu no Starfy 2 and Densetsu no Starfy 4.

In Densetsu no Starfy, the goal is to beat the boss or in Lobber's Cave, return Herman's Pretty Shell. After the player gains access to the Stage Select, Stages end after the player collects a Treasure Item from a Treasure Box or touches the Treasure Box if a Stage is played again.

In Densetsu no Starfy 2, the Area ends when the player touches a Treasure Box. In Densetsu no Starfy 4, the player must go through an exit to return to the City.

A Goal from Densetsu no Starfy 3

The Goals in Densetsu no Starfy 3 have a star at the top, six balls placed clockwise and a long bowl like object with a star on it at its bottom. The balls range in size from large to small. The star at the top and the balls will light up with one object lit up at a time (the lights move in a clockwise manner). When the player touches the star or one of the balls, it will cause the objects that are not lit up to disappear. Depending on where the light is, the player can gain a Pearl bonus.

Below are the Pearl bonuses the star and the different sized balls give.

Lit up object Pearl bonus
Star 50
Large ball 20
Medium-sized ball 5
Small ball No bonus

The Legendary Starfy

The Goals in The Legendary Starfy are floating cup-like objects that must be jumped on. When Starfy or Starly jump inside of a Goal, it causes them to spin, they push down on the Goal and it pushes back up sending them flying upwards, before sending the player back to the Map and saving the game. Unlike in Densetsu no Starfy 3, no Pearl bonus is available when Starfy or Starly jump on a Goal.

If the Goal is for a Side Quest that hasn't been cleared, only the floor for the Goal may appear, and will sparkle to indicate it will appear there.
