Buirun is a reptilian monster created by Ogura in Densetsu no Starfy 3. He is the boss of the second world, Coral Coast. He uses electricity to attack, and is extremely fast.
While Starfy, Moe, and Starly are traversing the Coral Coast chasing Ogura, Ogura creates a host of monsters to slow down and destroy them, one of which is Buirun. After Moe says that they have to catch every single monster, Buirun laughs at the thought and runs away. Starfy and Starly in hot pursuit, they must use objects to block Buirun's path while chasing him throughout the area. Eventually, Buirun is cornered by the two siblings, and says that he'll defeat them all using his true form. He then retreats inside of the boss door, where he waits for his battle with Starfy.
Battle
In battle, Buirun (like any other boss) has five hit points. He is virtually invincible as he may teleport to any location if approached by Starfy. His main attack consists of tossing a small electrical sphere at Starfy which may be dodged or destroyed by spinning into it. For a few moments, Buirun is vulnerable to an attack. During this time, Starfy must spin into him to deal one health point of damage. Upon receiving damage, Buirun will move to the center of the screen and charge up an electrical attack. Transparent thunder lines will signify where the attack will hit. After a few seconds, Buirun will release the attack and thunder will follow the designated paths. The number of paths increases with the damage Buirun takes: first at 3, 3 again, 4, then 6 lines of thunder before being defeated.
Post Game
If the player challenges Buirun during the post game, he boasts that Starfy/Starly can't beat him now that he's even faster than before.
Trivia
- According to Buirun's Trading Card, Buirun's speed comes from his electricity, and if he uses too much of it, he cannot move the next day.
