Hint (Japanese: ヒント) is a feature in the Game Boy Advance games. In Densetsu no Starfy, it has no visible name and appears in a text box at the bottom of the Pause screen. In Densetsu no Starfy 2 and Densetsu no Starfy 3, it is an option that can be selected from the Pause Menu. Although it leads nowhere, selecting it causes the Hint to appear.
The Hints various advice on playing the game. Only one Hint is shown at a time, which depends on the player's progress in the game. If the player has already beaten the game once, the Hint tells the player that they can return to the Stage Select by holding the Select and Start buttons and in Densetsu no Starfy 3, also asks the player if they have collected all the Evil Crystals yet.
The Hint feature in Densetsu no Starfy 4 was merged into the Hint & Items screen. The Legendary Starfy features a Touch Screen feature similar to the Hint feature called Mermaid Gossip, which has the Japanese name Mermaid Hints.
