Heart-Pounding Tightrope (Japanese: ドキドキつなわたり, Doki Doki Tightrope) is a minigame in Densetsu no Starfy 2. Doki Doki is a form of Japanese onomatopoeia referring to a rapidly beating heart. It is unlocked by clearing Stage 10-6 (Torrent's Waterfall).
The aim of this minigame is to reach the red flag at the opposite end of the tightrope for a given number of times under a time limit of sixty seconds. Playing on 'Easy' mode requires Starfy to cross the tightrope two times, playing on 'Normal' mode requires Starfy to cross the tightrope three times, and playing on 'Hard' mode requires Starfy to cross the tightrope four times.
How to play
Move the d-pad left and right to move Moe across the rocks underneath Starfy. Press and hold the B button while moving to move faster. The A button can be used to fire foam at Starfy to cause him to make two steps towards the goal, or to defeat various Monjamin (green) and Hirapa (orange) like enemies which fall from the sky and attempt to walk on the tightrope with Starfy. If Starfy makes contact with one of these enemies, it causes the player to fail the minigame and they will be returned to the minigame selection menu. The orange enemies appear less often, but travel faster than the green enemies.
When Starfy comes in contact with the goal, one point is added to the player's score. The minigame is won if enough points are gathered after the sixty-seconds time limit runs out.
