Sukebon (スケボン), and its post game upgrade Sukebon Kai (スケボン改) is an vehicle given by Torito in Densetsu no Starfy 2, in Slippery Ice Alpine (Stage 4-2). It can be upgraded after returning to find Torito after defeating Ogura for the first time. It can be used to cross poisonous waters and lava. Its fan name is the Sea Skater, and its upgrade is named the Soarin' Sea Skater.

Controls

• When Starfy is riding Sukebon, the screen will automatically scroll. Starfy can make Sukebon move left or right via the D-Pad. The A button can be pressed to make Sukebon and Starfy jump up into the air to cross gaps. The upgraded Sukebon has wings and can flutter in the air for a short period of time if the A button is held down. Unlike the upgraded version of Pakara from the third game, even if the A button isn't held for the entire duration of flight, you cannot press A again to initiate it again.

Name Origin

• Sukebon's name most likely comes from the word スケボー (Sukebō), a shortened version of the Japanese name for a skateboard (スケートボード). It could also be a literal combination of skate and board, as it is a (albeit living) board that you skate across the water's surface with.

Trivia

• Catfish Boat from Densetsu no Starfy, and Pakara from Densetsu no Starfy 3 are similar vehicles given by Torito.
• The name of this ability is coincidentally similar to Sukapon (スカポン), also known as Skapon, the protagonist of Joy Mech Fight for the Famicom.
