Bandotai are musical fish "enemies" in Densetsu no Starfy 4. These enemies disappear after Stage 7-1 is completed. They normally appear with a large triangle and one of three sleeping Kujira Children in the same room. When a Bandotai is hit with a Star Spin, several musical notes will appear from its guitar. Starfy has to hit a musical note each time it enters the triangle. If done correctly, a red circle will appear each time Starfy hits the note. If a musical note hits the wall, the player fails and Starfy will have to hit Bandotai to try again.

When Starfy succeeds, the Bandotai will play loud music that wakes up the relevant Kujira Child. This causes it to return back to Kujira Papa.
