Bars (Japanese: バー) and Gates (Japanese: ゲート) are objects in Densetsu no Starfy 4. They only appear in Tear Lake in Area 1. They come in four different colors, blue (Japanese: 青), green (Japanese: 緑), yellow (Japanese: 黄) and purple (Japanese: 紫). Each bar and gate is paired together and is coded by color, the number of 'marks' engraved on it and a number.
Bars can be turned either clockwise or anti-clockwise using Starfy or Starly's Turbo Swim, depending on the type. Attached to the Bar is a round piece that is orange and has a rotation symbol on it at first but turns blue with a circle on it after it is turned all the way round. After Starfy or Starly turns a Bar all the way around, the corresponding Gate opens.
