Japanese Name | ブランコ |
Located | Deep Sea |
First Appearance | Densetsu no Starfy |
Latest Appearance | Densetsu no Starfy |
The Buranko are glowfish enemies which appear in Densetsu no Starfy. They are the minions of Blantern; who is the boss of Deep Sea. These enemies swim alongside Blantern in groups of multiple Buranko in order to attack Starfy. They only appear as real enemies in the boss battle with Buranko itself. Other Buranko do appear in different areas of Deep Sea, but only as characters. Like most enemies, they can be defeated with a Star Spin. Although they fight alongside Blantern, when enough Buranko are spawned, they light up the area, making Blantern vulnerable to a Star Spin. This means defeating Buranko can be unbeneficial.
In the story, Blantern and the Buranko stole Uotsaruto's Tone of Ocean. These enemies are mischevious in nature, but often feel apologetic for their own actions, expressing sadness. One of the Buranko tells Starfy and Moe about the elephant fish statues, which help lead Starfy and Moe to Blantern. After defeating Ogura, if Starfy and Moe return to Deep Sea, they will find a Buranko who leads them to a secret room, in which Starfy and Moe locate one of Pufftop Palace's lost treasure chests.
