Perfume (Japanese: パフューム) is a Japanese girl band focusing on pop music from Hiroshima, Japan, currently consisting of members "A~Chan" Ayaka Nishiwaki, "Kashiyuka" Yuka Kashino and "Nochi" Ayano Ōmoto. The group was originally formed in 2000 by members Ayaka Nishiwaki, Yuka Kashino, and Yuuka Kawashima and the name "Perfume" was chosen because all members had the Japanese character for fragrance (香) in their name, however Kawashima since left the group in 2001.

Since debuting locally in 2001, they have gradually expanded to become a major label in Japan. The current producer of the group since 2003 is Yasutaka Nakata, who is the founder of the Japanese band Capsule and its associated record label Contemode.

In order to promote Densetsu no Starfy 3, one of Perfume's songs, Vitamin Drop was played in a commercial for Densetsu no Starfy 3 featuring Starfy, Starly, Ogura and various other characters moving on a sushi conveyor belt. The commercial was divided into two versions, including a 15 seconds version and a longer 30 seconds version. Perfume also made a guest appearance in a special ending of the Japanese television program Oha Suta: The Super Kids Station in July 26, 2004. The ending starred Starfy, Starly and Perfume singing and dancing to the Tone of Ocean theme.
