Game Boy Encyclopedia (Japanese: ゲームボーイ大百科) was a series of unofficial Japanese mooks published by Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha (実業之日本社) that focused on chronicling Game Boy and Game Boy Color games.

The issues covered large lists of released games, pages about specific games and information about upcoming games. The 2001 edition (released January 14th, 2001[1]) detailed information about the upcoming Game Boy Advance and different games that were announced for the system, such as Golden Sun, Hatena Satena, Mario Kart: Super Circuit and Megaman Battle Network.

Densetsu no Starfy information

The 2001 edition covered two pages (pp. 60-61) about Densetsu no Starfy before it was announced that development had moved to the Game Boy Advance in a section 'GB Megahit Armageddon'. This section features detailed information about various Game Boy Color games and rates them on the 'Game Check Point' scale in categories 'Technical' (技能性), 'Characters' (キャラクター), 'Drama' (ドラマ性), 'Thought' (思考性) and 'Mania' (熱中性). [2]

The pages listed Densetsu no Starfy as a scheduled release for the Game Boy Color featuring promotional artwork of Starfy and Old Man Lobber during the time that Densetsu no Starfy was promoted at Nintendo Space World 2000. The two pages appear to have prerelease screenshots of the game, including three development screenshots that are hosted on Densetsu no Starfy's Nintendo Space World 2000 software listing and four other, unlisted screenshots. [3] [4] Densetsu no Starfy scored top marks in 'Character' and 'Drama', and relatively well in the other categories.
