God! This can't be happening! God, please give me a cookie! I'm overreacting! Omg! I can't believe I have been such a help to such a popular wiki... MBArceus 00:20, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

When I saw that, I dropped my jaw in astonishment. I was hoping for this Wikia to be well known to those who seek Starfy info, but this... Just make me feel all warm and cozy inside. :3 - BattleFranky202 04:50, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

Well, isn't this fun? Congratulations everybody!^^ Keep up the good work.

Chopperdude 14:30, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

This is great! Hopefully now more people seeking information about the Japan-only Starfy games will see this. I'd hate to brag, but I know I was a big help to get this far! This is great! Maybe we'll even get new editers that know more Japanese than I do! Or we'll just get more vandals... Either way, we're popular! Star Light 20:07, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

Truly, this is a grand occasion! And you have every right to be proud Star Light! As well as everyone else here who helped this wiki get started! Especially our founder BattleFranky202! Well, with great fame comes great responsibility (or pickled haring, I forget which one 0_o) so let's continue to work hard so this wiki keeps on shining and hopefully will be more popular than the APB Wiki! -The Forgotten Beast TALK 22:53, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

Forum:Lovelin or Loverin?

Okay, it's about time I made the article for Lovely's yellow look-alike, but I don't know which way to Romanize her name. ラブリン can be Loverin or Lovelin! Which one should it be? Star Light 04:37, August 5, 2010 (UTC)

I don't know, either name makes sense to me, because if you choose Lovelin it kinda sounds like a combination of Love and Lin (Kinda chinese in my opinion) and if you choose Loverin it kinda sounds like a combination of Lover and (I guess) Catherine or something, personally I think Loverin sounds more logical (maybe), but Lovelin sounds prettier, but I guess in the end we should probably go for Loverin... -The Forgotten Beast TALK 08:33, August 6, 2010 (UTC)
Alright! Loverin it is! We can always change it if needed. Star Light 03:40, August 8, 2010 (UTC)

Forum:New Featured Article

Alright then, User:MBArceus has brought up an important subject, apparently Moe has been our featured article for more than a year... So it's time we voted for a new featured article! So let's get to voting and see who will be our new FA! (PS: The music above is to make this seem more exciting...probably won't work...-_-) -The Forgotten Beast TALK 23:14, July 15, 2010 (UTC)

I agree. I nominate Starly's page. It looks very nice, and has quite a bit of info on it. (PS, I think the music is a nice touch) - BattleFranky202 23:53, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
Thank you BattleFranky, nice vote! My vote shall go to Old Man Lobber, his article is well written and well organized and covers his appearances in the Japan-only titles! -The Forgotten Beast TALK 23:59, July 15, 2010 (UTC)
In spite of it still having the stub template, my vote goes to Konk. Star Light 01:12, July 17, 2010 (UTC)
My vote is also for Konk, so i guess he is winning. - User:Kittana 06:59, July 17, 2010 (UTC)
i will also choose Konk PS i like the music
I Vote for The Terrible Trio. Looks like 2 votes for the Terrible Trio! (P.S. The music i think makes people want to vote faster like times running out.) -User:Blueclaw* 12:48 July 24, 2010 (UTC)
I vote for Old Man Lobber.-User:Stafyfan360

Hey, Titanic98810 deleted my post! (I know it was Titanic98810 because it said he edited this page last.) Anyway, I said I had voted for The Terrible Trio.

It's been quite a while and I see no action in this. Someone, vote for Old Man Lobber or Konk already and end this.

I'll just change my vote. I think the Old Man Lobber article's better now anyway. Star Light 04:29, August 23, 2010 (UTC)

Candidates

Forum:Next featured article

Update: Forum is now closed

Alright everyone its that time again! We have to vote on a new featured article for the wiki so if anyone wants to suggest any candidates leave your suggestions below. After candidates are chosen we will begin the voting process. -The Forgotten Beast 23:00, 26 August 2011 (UTC)

"Update:" Suggestions for candidates will close on September 9th, afterwards the voting poll for the next FA will begin.

Suggestions

MOE —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fudgehog15 (talkcontribs)

Moe was already a featured article... At least back when the Starfy Wiki was still on Wikia. I suggest Starly. - BattleFranky202 04:17, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

I vote for Ogura, we always had the main protagonists being featured on here every year so why not have the most known antagonist to be featured on here this year? I mean his page has the most views out of any antagonist in this wiki with 2,645 views while Mashtooth is second with 2,585 views! Sure he might be third on the polls but thats because the only Starfy game released outside of Japan was The Legendary Starfy and everyone by now is most familiar with those antangonists. Kagegamer12 13:51, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

I always wanted to find out what the ham starfy is any way so learning as much as possible might help me solve the mystery --Fudgehog15 22:15, 31 August 2011 (UTC)

I nominate Konk, his articles covers all of his appearances and details his personal traits. -The Forgotten Beast 06:21, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

I vote for Wario, because it covers all of his roles through Densetsu no Starfy 3 in detail for each level in Undersea Ruins.

@BattleFranky202, was it? Would you like me to add it back as featured? --Torchickens 15:40, 2 September 2011 (UTC)
edit: oh, sorry. I didn't realize that there was only one featured article at a time ;-;. --Torchickens 15:50, 2 September 2011 (UTC)

My vote also goes to Konk. It's been well updated since last time. Star Light 23:34, 7 September 2011 (UTC)

Okay, I'm going to need the input of every major contributor on this Wiki for this.

User blog:BattleFranky202/Opportunity?

Adam, a member of the staff at NIWA, and an admin over at Zelda Wiki.org and WiKirby, is offering us the chance to have free hosting, like most of the other Wikias switching.

Main discussion here.

User blog:MBArceus/Star Spin In! To the Blog

Hi guys! This is my first Blog entry. With this new feature, I hope to make at least a paragraph a day of a Starfy comedy story! So, here's the first paragraph! All is bound after defeating and is in order.

Paragraph/Chapter 1: Craaazy Moe'licas!

Starfy is taking a nice stroll in his home of Pufftop, exhausted. Fighting Mashtooth was hard! Then he sees Moe, staring at his mirror.

Starfy called Moe to see what he was doing. He did nothing. Starfy repeated, but Moe still did nothing. Starfy tapped him to find it was just

a plastic replica of him! He then fell from the ceiling. A Bunston imitation? He called him, but nothing happened. He tapped him like the

plastic replica before. It was a steel replica! Then he saw one crash from the floor and into the ceiling. Starfy went all the way to Bunnera

to get there. He tapped it. It was a painted diamond replica! He went back to Pufftop, way more exhausted than before. He then saw Moe

in his room. What a waste of time! P.S. He was so distracted by finding Moe that he didn't realize how much Pearls he could get with that

huge chunk of diamond!

Hm... this won't work.

User blog:Star Light/Bad news, with a side of hopefully good news

Well, the bad news is I'm not getting the Starfy manga because of damn customs... If I happen to get lucky enough to find them on Ebay, I'll certainly get them if they're in decent condition and not overpriced.

The good news, or at least hopefully good news, is that I might start taking Japanese classes if I can find one. If it goes well, I'll be able to translate the stories! I don't know how long that will take, but if I can start soon and it's a good class it shouldn't took a horrid amount of time. It might not go well, but it's worth a try. I have a lot more reasons to know more Japanese than helping with the wiki.

Regardless, I'll still help out however I can! Star Light 04:16, August 22, 2010 (UTC)

User blog:Star Light/Blog test

Hello, Starfy fans! I'm Star_Light, an admin at the Starfy Wiki and currently the main Japanese translater.

This blog feature made me curious so I thought I'd try it out, but just so it won't go to waste, I'll let you all in on some things here I'm working on or would be working on.

Abilities: There are 2 abilities in Densetsu no Stafy 2 that I want to make articles of, but I can't because I usually make ability articles in English and I can't find a translation for them. They are Ryun and Sukebon. Ryun is a dragon that carries Starfy around, its controls are similar to the Magic Set. Sukebon is very similar to the Catfish Boat. They might not have a translation like Kigurumi. If you know what either of them mean, I'd appreciate it if you told me.

Stages: I've been working on stages from the Japan-only games as some can tell. Since I happen to translate the first three game's stages in order, (example: I made articles of all their first stages then their second stages) I thought I'd continue doing it that way. Right now I just need to catch up on Densetsu no Stafy 4 stages. The next stage I'll add happens to be my favorite stage in all the Starfy series! I just need to translate the name and I couldn't say how long that will take.

Characters: For the most part characters are doing fine, but I really wish I could figure out more about Japan-only character's personalities and story roles. The only solution to this is to keep working on my Japanese lessons.

Whew, that was a lot. I'll stop it here for now. Thanks to anyone that read all that! If you have any questions, answers, or comments in general, I'll be here!

User blog:Star Light/It's my birthday! But that's not the main point about this blog

Today (August 16) is my birthday! I'm now 18, not that age matters to me. As the title says though, that's not the only point of this blog.

Did you know that there were Starfy series manga? There are 3 issues, and I'm pretty sure they're based on the first four Starfy games. I'm going to get them for my birthday! So once I do, I can start adding articles about them and add manga-related things to existing articles!

I don't know yet, but I might also get the Japanese version of The Legendary Starfy. I've been needing to get it for awhile. I'd be able to add more Japanese names for things that can't be found in the internet or aren't in previous Starfy games!

I guess that's about it. I am still working on stages, there have just been various delays, but they shouldn't be a problem much longer. I hope you're looking forward to what's coming, and a happy birthday to me! Star Light 09:25, August 16, 2010 (UTC)

User blog:Star Light/Nintendo not planning to translate The Legendary Starfy's prequels

Hey, everyone. It's Star_Light. With a bit of bad news, I'm afraid.

A couple days ago I sent an E-mail to Nintendo of America, asking if they were planning to translate the previous Starfy games and I mentioned that me and many other fans would love for them to be translated. I didn't think I would get an answer in less than a day and I wasn't sure I would get one at all, but I did! This is what I got...

"Hello,

I appreciate your writing in with your desire to see more Starfy games! So far, there hasn't been an official announcement of a release in this market. While I’m unable to offer a specific reason regarding this title, there are many reasons that Nintendo or any other publisher may decide to release a game in one market, but not another. These can include difficulty or cost of localization, the size and financial strength of the publisher, the size of the distribution network, and (most often) the idea that the game will simply not be accepted or enjoyed in another market. However, there are (like you) real fans of those games or franchises in this market who would love nothing more than to see these games on store shelves here. I understand (and sometimes even share) your frustration! Having said that, please understand that those fans may constitute too small a portion of the gaming public to justify the costs associated with bringing a game here. Of course, you never know what the future holds, as evidenced by the appearance in this market of previously Japan-only franchises like Advance Wars and Fire Emblem. Keep an eye on our website (http://www.nintendo.com) for all the latest news as it becomes available. Sincerely, R.M. Ricketts Nintendo of America Inc."

With that being said, the Starfy Wiki may very well be the only place to find translated things from the previous games right now and possibly in the future. It is disappointing, but it encourages fan translations. Once I'm better at Japanese I'll do whatever I can to help translate all four of the first Starfy games! Of course, this may not mean future Starfy games won't be translated. Like Ricketts said, you never know what the future holds!
