The [[Madcap]] enemies in ''Densetsu no Starfy 4'' appear to wear a mushroom hat and have mushroom-like objects attached to the end of their arms. These enemies later appear in ''[[The Legendary Starfy]]''.

In ''The Legendary Starfy'', [[Old Man Vern]] owns a mushroom farm with various multi-colored mushrooms. As part of the [[Side Quest]] "The Mushroom Farm" (No. 12), Starfy must protect Old Man Vern's mushrooms from the [[Mushrew]], who eat all of Old Man Vern's mushrooms without his permission.

Special glowing red mushrooms known as [[glowing mushroom]]s are also used to enable [[Starfy]] to see through thick fog. This mushroom can be attached to a [[Coddie]]'s head to create a species known as a [[Capfish]].
