The Forgotten Beast (Talk) asked me to leave you a message
Hi Star Light (Talk). The Forgotten Beast asked me to inform you that he won't be active on NIWA or Skype until an unknown date due to his computers having not worked for weeks. Please let me know if you receive this message. Thanks. --Torchickens 08:31, 22 May 2012 (CDT)
- I got it. Thanks for letting me know! I wondered why I haven't seen him lately, but I just assumed it was because he was busy elsewhere. Star Light 17:53, 23 May 2012 (CDT)
- Glad you got the message.
- We've almost got articles for all the minigames done but I was having trouble with the name of a certain minigame in Densetsu no Starfy 2 (おとしちゃダメダメ, Otoshicha Dame Dame?) I wasn't really sure what to make of it, other than 'dame dame' meaning something like 'bad bad'. I was wondering if you had any ideas on how to fully translate it?
- Also, I recently noticed something really cool. You know how TheDWJProductions started a translation of Densetsu no Starfy on Youtube? Somebody started doing an actual translation of Densetsu no Starfy. Kagegamer12 and I were interested in helping, so we sent the original poster a private message into how far the project has progressed, and if we could help with it, since we both have some experience in ROM hacking.
- If they accept, would you be interested in teaming up to try a translation of Densetsu no Starfy as a community project? We thought the main story text would take a while, though it wouldn't be too bad because Densetsu no Starfy isn't that long of a game, and we already have all the character/enemy and music names. --Torchickens 09:57, 25 May 2012 (CDT)
- I actually didn't know anyone was translating the game! I'm more out-of-date than I thought.--; As for the project... I'd love to help, but I feel like I'd be taking on a bigger task than I can truly handle. I made that mistake somewhere else half-a-year ago. Even if I could translate the story, I feel like it would take a lot more time and effort than it would if I improved my Japanese first. As for the minigame, that's a good question. I might have a better idea if you tell me what otoshicha means since none of my sources have it for some reason.>_> Star Light 05:32, 28 May 2012 (CDT)
- All right then. I'll wait and see what the translator Blackmage907 says. I'm usually a 'list person' who likes to put things into context after the main content is written. I now have a lot of free time, so feel more confident to invest time into something like this. I wouldn't feel confident in trying to translate an RPG, but I thought that ideally a preliminary translation of Densetsu no Starfy could be made to include what we already have and know, including enemy names, character names, stage names, and DWJ's text for Stage 1 and maybe built on through time.

- Anyway, I think I may have figured something out! There is a word 落とし otoshi that means 'dropped'. After some research, ちゃ cha can be used as a casual abbreviation for things you can't do. The minigame is called おとしちゃダメダメ. How would you word this? I was thinking something like "Don't drop no good no good"? --Torchickens 17:54, 29 May 2012 (CDT)
- Don't Drop No Good No Good sounds fine to me! Sorry I answered so late. Star Light 21:58, 4 June 2012 (CDT)
