Buirun is a boss in Densetsu no Stafy 3. While Starfy, Moe, and Starly are traversing the Coral Coast, Ogura is flying amongst the skies, wreaking havoc by creating monsters and sending them everywhere. Then, Buirun is summoned by Ogura and is sent to Coral Coast by Ogura. There, Buirun simply flees from both Starfy and Starly who both must pursuit him through a series of areas. Finally, Buirun is cornered by the duo and he is forced to retreat through a door. On the other side of the door, Buirun is waiting for Starfy to battle him. After his defeat, Buirun disappears from the Coral Coast.

Battle

In battle, Buirun (like any other boss) has five hit points. He is virtually invincible as he may teleport to any location if approached by Starfy. His main attack consists of tossing a small electrical sphere at Starfy which may be dodged or destroyed by spinning into it. For a few moments, Buirun is vulnerable to an attack. During this time, Starfy must spin into him to deal one health point of damage. Upon receiving damage, Buirun will move to the center of the screen and charge up an electrical attack. Transparent thunder lines will signify where the attack will hit. After a few seconds, Buirun will release the attack and thunder will follow the designated paths. The number of paths increases with the damage Buirun takes: first at 3, 3 again, 4, then 6 lines of thunder before being defeated.
