::Changed plan that any fan names can be added, but some may be removed from the article case by case. However, it's complicated that some of the ROM hack fan translations may be a stretch; so perhaps it either has to be from the ROM hacks or a name that is from a literal analysis (e.g. both Georgiro (ROM hack name for Jojiro) and Jawjiro could be allowed). In this and Wozart's case, the source of the name could be added in brackets. Torchickens (talk) 23:14, 8 April 2020 (UTC) (edit @ :16)
Hello, I'm new to the wiki. I just finished creating a map of the Lobber' Cave stage to put it as an additional picture for the Lobber's Cave page, however, everytime I try to upload the file, I am not able to do it, and red leters appear saying that I do not have permission to create a new page. If somebody can tell me how to upload the file i'd really appreaciate it. Thanks.
:Apparently, according to Special:ListGroupRights, patrollers and above are able to upload files from their computer, while autoconfirmed users are able to upload through url. That is some very odd restrictions, and I'm not sure what the autoconfirm limit is, so I'll ask someone about that after Christmas. Feel free to shoot me a reminder at some point after then, too, I don't mind. Alex95 (talk) 17:46, 24 December 2020 (UTC)
Thank you very much! I will try to do it again then.
===Spam=== | |||
Recently, mass waves of spam have become an issue again. What are our thoughts on this? Should the spam continue to be vetted manually, or should there be a stricter autoconfirm, or is there another option/approach to this? While it's tempting to add tighter locking, I have mixed thoughts on it; because both the spammers can still circumvent it (whether it be circumventing a Captcha, waiting until "autoconfirmed" (a user group) is enabled. The only exception might be something like NintendoWiki (NIWA) (but some may find that elitist too - the concept that before an edit is published a staff member has to manually check it (it depends on the community so made this section for opinions)). On the other hand, the volume of spam would be expected to decrease and it requires less commitment from the staff (or patrollers). This is the general discussion page for the wiki! New founders should leave a nice welcome message and encourage new visitors and editors to leave a note to get the conversation started.
Featured article discussions
September 22, 2013
What should be our next featured article? I vote for Wotsaruto because his/her coverage is complete now. --Torchickens (talk) 20:04, 22 September 2013 (UTC)
- Wotsaruto would make a great featured article along with maybe his music underneath his pic. -The Forgotten Beast (talk) 03:25, 23 September 2013 (UTC)
Other discussions
How come this wiki doesn't have pages for the FIRST FOUR games of the series? JesseRoo
I was thinking the same too, but it's hard to write something that never released outside of Japan. If anyone played the game outside of Japan, it'll be too hard to understand the story if that person doesn't read Japanese. BlueWater Starfy
I also think many of the pages on this wiki are too messy (For example: The Terrible Trio), incomplete (Example: All Starfy games, The Legendary Starfy series page, and MANY character pages), horrible templates (Example: The boss template), and bunch of redlinks (Example: Characters in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and most Starfy games). We really need to improve this wiki. BlueWater Starfy

Affiliation (& confirmation e-mail)
Hey there, this is Koroku from Wikimon, here to say "Sure" to the affiliate idea. Also, wanted to let you know this:
- Starfy Wiki could not send your confirmation mail. Please check your e-mail address for invalid characters.
- Mailer returned: php_uname() has been disabled for security reasons
Might wanna get that fixed, because it DID send the e-mail. (: --Aredmoon 08:27, 23 January 2012 (EST)
Delete User Extension
I propose that we add the extension that allows you to delete users. Looking at Special:ListUsers, all you see are Spam users. It should not be that way. I suggest we get the extension and delete all the spam users so they don't show up as a user at all. --Starphoria (C·E) 21:12, 26 February 2012 (EST)
- I definitely support this, or maybe an extension which allows you to hide those users (unless that's actually what delete user does. Sorry I'm not really good with MediaWiki in general). There are some usernames there which may be offensive or agitating to visitors who read them, and we really don't want that on Starfy Wiki. --Torchickens 16:43, 28 February 2012 (EST)
Skin
There are some big contrast issues with the default skin. Both the log in and preferences pages require highlighting to read due to white-on-white. I actually changed my skin to the uncustomized Vector just so I could change my preferences. --SnorlaxMonster (talk) 06:47, 9 November 2012 (CST)
- Fixed. Thanks for bringing it up and sorry about the delay. --Torchickens (talk) 14:56, 1 January 2014 (UTC)
- I have the same issue when viewing diffs, like this one. The contrast is terrible in Monobook. In fact, underneath the edit window, I can't read any of the non-linked text (without highlighting it) other than the "Save page" etc. buttons. --SnorlaxMonster (talk) 06:44, 4 January 2016 (UTC)
