:I didn't go about changing every instance of 'Stafy' to 'Starfy', but did when editing some of the articles which needed to be edited for other things like adding navboxes because I wasn't really sure what we thought about it and didn't want to go around changing absolutely everything. On one hand, Stafy is the original Japanese title and the Game Boy Advance games and ''[[Densetsu no Starfy 4|Densetsu no Sta(rf)y 4]]'' were never released outside of Japan, though on the other hand Starfy is the localized name, and calling sutafī 'Stafy' assumes Japanese phonology for an English Wiki, where Starfy is still called Stafy in ''[[The Legendary Starfy]]'' in Japan. Use this page to discuss design and content changes to the main page. For general wiki discussion, please visit the Community Portal or Forums.

Contents

I was thinking about adding either "World" or "Levels", along with "Minigames" to the contents part of the page, but it would seem kind of redundant with the "Locations" part there... - BattleFranky202 21:08, 10 June 2009 (UTC)

I think we should scrap "locations" for "worlds" (which are officially called stages btw) and "levels." I also think we should remove "playable characters" since there are only 2 (unless you count Bunston and his transformations) --Starfy 17:50, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
Yeah, good point. Should we just leave 6 contents up there? - BattleFranky202 18:52, 26 June 2009 (UTC)
I don't know what you mean, but whatever works --Starfy 00:06, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
So far, there are 8 contents: Characters, Playable characters, Enemies, Bosses, Locations, Transformations, Gameplay, Minigames. You suggested we take down "playable characters" and replace "locations" with "worlds". I think locations should stay, but you're right, playable characters have to go. - BattleFranky202 02:01, 1 July 2009 (UTC)
Locations could stay, but I think it would be awkward having Stages (or worlds if you call them that) and Locations. There aren't any locations that I can think of that aren't stages. It doesn't really matter which one we chose because they end up being having the same contents. If you wanted to reduce the number of categories on the front page you could combine transformations with gameplay and call it something like "abilities" --Starfy 13:23, 1 July 2009 (UTC)

Change featured article?

MBArceus - To be a starfish or be a star. That is the question.

It's been Moe, for, how long? One year? We need to change it.

Densetsu No Stafy Mangas

Did you know there are mangas for the Starfy series? There are mangas for 1, 2, 3, and 4. I haven't been able to find pictures of 3's manga, but I have found some pictures of the other 3:

Volume 1 cover

Volume 2 cover

Volume 4 Cover

Here is one of the pages of Volume 1:

Here is one of the pages of Volume 2:

And here is one of the pages of Volume 4:

I haven't been able to find the full mangas, but the pictures look pretty good! If anybody here has the mangas, you should add some pictures from them and info about them. Maybe they have some things that weren't in the games. It also makes me question if we will ever see a Starfy anime (Although there are anime shorts/commercials, those don't really count)...

Duplicate articles

We have duplicates of the Densetsu no Stafy 1, 2 and 3 articles using the US localized Starfy (e.g. Densetsu no Starfy) in their titles instead of Stafy. Should these pages be converted into redirects? --Torchickens 21:41, 2 February 2011 (UTC)

The Poll

What just happened with the poll??? It seems about 21 voters or so just joined and voted on the poll. It seems a lot of them voted for Mashtooth (Probably because he is the villain from the only English game in the series so far)...

Domain Downtime

Starfy Wiki's domain will be transferring tomorrow to a different registrar, during this time (~7 days) http://starfywiki.org will most likely be unavailable. I have setup http://starfy.gam1ng.com as a temporary fix so that it is sill possible to work on the wiki. Sorry for the rush of this but it needs to be done. The transfer will start sometime tomorrow (2/22/2011). I ask that you start using http://starfy.gam1ng.com that way if there are any issues I can solve that before the transfer. You can contact me by e-mailing: tappy(at)zeldafan.net thanks.

  • Update: Transfer will not begin until Feb 27 2011 12:00AM (EST)
  • Transfer has been completed. Everything should be working as it used to. You can return to using http://starfywiki.org

NIWA Contact page

I was going to PM the other staff about this via the NIWA forums, but I thought that it would be more efficient to discuss it here. On the NIWA contact page there is no section for Starfy Wiki. The Forgotten Beast (Talk) and I unfortunately haven't heard a response from BattleFranky since April. Does anybody in particular want to take the responsibility of responding to emails, or are the others fine if I just use my email address ([email protected])?

Additionally, should we have a Starfy board on NIWA forums, or should it link back to Starfy Wiki, what does everyone else think? I'm addressing this to everyone who reads this.

Thanks! --Torchickens 12:18, 17 July 2011 (UTC)

Densetsu no Stafy or Starfy?

A few months ago, Densetsu no Stafy [#] and Densetsu no Starfy [#] were duplicate articles, so The Forgotten Beast (Talk) moved all Densetsu no Stafy to Densetsu no Starfy. Should we stick to this plan of using Densetsu no Starfy?

I didn't go about changing every instance of 'Stafy' to 'Starfy', but did when editing some of the articles which needed to be edited for other things like adding navboxes because I wasn't really sure what we thought about it and didn't want to go around changing absolutely everything.
