Thank you
Thanks for your great contributions for glitches in The Legendary Starfy and Densetsu no Starfy 3 and for fixing the Starfy 3 Trading Card error, Diamond. Have noticed that you're into speedrunning. Nice to see a Legendary Starfy speedrunner on our wiki. --Torchickens (talk) 23:21, 15 December 2016 (UTC)
- Cool! ^^ I think the same, Legendary Starfy is personally my favourite mainly Japan-only video game series. Another Japanese Game Boy Advance game I enjoyed was Tomato Adventure. Thank you for sharing and congratulations on finding that new Ogura glitch!
- RE: Upon, I see. Interestingly it seems that the error can be found in the Densetsu no Stafy 3 Nintendo Official Guidebook, which (at least in my copy) states Upon can be found in Stage 9-3 even though you found it in 9-4. I'm wondering whether the authors confused it with another character, such as Jueri who is found in 9-3.
- That's right, ChickasaurusGL is my main channel for glitches (mainly from the Pokémon series). I used to host the Starfy glitch videos on Youtube/Torchickens but moved them to ChickasaurusGL to make it a general glitch channel. Most of the glitches weren't my original finds and are from people such as gocha (who may have found the 5-5 sequence break), hogehoge and messhi475 but I found a couple such as the Puchi Ogura #10 text box glitch in Stafy 2.
- You used the talk page correctly :). Some people make replies from their own talk page, other people to the other person's. If you do the latter you also get a notice that you have a new message. Torchickens (talk) 18:29, 21 December 2016 (UTC)
- I see, yes. I think if it was an unofficial guidebook it wouldn't be as surprising (although on hindsight the official guidebook may more accurately be produced by Shogakukan with permission for them to have access to things such as the official artworks from Nintendo given the license). Still, I feel it's very easy in publication for one to make a mistake and end up leaving it.
- That's right, I used to have access to the files but they seem to have vanished from my computer sadly. Fortunately (many) of the links in the log (such as this one) can still be used to download the files! In the past I had difficulty getting the VBM state to work on a version of VBA that supported it, and seem to remember there being more than one revisions of the files, one version of the files not working on any version of VBA I tried and another version eventually working on one of the versions.
- I will let you know if I can get them to work again. Sadly if memory serves right stafy3-stapy-doublejump is just the Stage 7-3 (Gabun Ocean Trench) exploit for Stafy 3 in which you stand on a small space next to a stone platform when they are wedged between the wall and stafy1_pearl_glitch was to get a pearl to circle around Starfy infinitely. I'm unsure which ones stafy3-rocket and stafy2-cornerboost were however.
- In Starfy 2 there is a boulder collision exploit that allows things to happen like being sent into a wall, so the one for Stafy 2 may be based on that. If it can send you flying across the screen it might save a little time. Videos of it could be found here but as luck would have it it seems they have been made private. --Torchickens (talk) 14:41, 22 December 2016 (UTC)
