Shooting Star (Meteor Attack, りゅうせいアタック in Japan) is one of Starfy's abilities introduced in Densetsu no Starfy 2.

In the Game Boy Advance games and Densetsu no Starfy 4, it is performed by using an Air Jump and pressing Down and B. In The Legendary Starfy, it is performed by pressing Down and Y instead of Down and B.

This move will charge through the air until it reaches an enemy or land, but if it takes a little time in water, it will stop. In Densetsu no Starfy 4, it will stop immediately after Starfy makes contact with a surface of water. In Densetsu no Starfy 3, if the player goes to a high enough height and uses the Shooting Star without hitting anything in its path, it will speed up and become more powerful allowing Starfy to destroy large blocks, pierce through enemies, and even go through water to the bottom without interruption from strong water currents.

When Starfy hits an enemy in the air with his Shooting Star ability, he will bounce off it and can use the Air Jump again. Harmless obstacles called Kurobon are placed in certain areas so that Starfy can hit them with the Shooting Star ability and continue to hit the next one. They can let Starfy climb to higher places or go further if multiple Kurobon are placed in succession.
