I didn't actually upload those images; I just re-uploaded them from Wikia. Whilst all of the articles were automatically exported to the new Wiki, the images were not and had to be uploaded manually. I agree, the character artwork is very nice. Anyway, keep up the great work. --Torchickens 18:33, 26 May 2011 (UTC) | I didn't actually upload those images; I just re-uploaded them from Wikia. :I don't know much about the names actually, though maybe you could ask Star_Light who knows a lot more about the Japanese names than I do. I don't really see any problem with uploading the artwork here, because when a name is found we can just move the filename but if you'd prefer to do so go ahead and upload the artwork on Flickr. --Torchickens 18:58, 26 May 2011 (UTC) | :I don't know much about the names actually, though maybe you could ask Star_Light who knows a lot more about the Japanese names than I do. :Of course, I don't mind. Don't feel hesitant to upload artwork which you don't know the character names of :). I know that you wrote that you can't remember where you found all that DnS4 artwork, but did you find them pretty much how they were? There is metadata for some of the images associated with Adobe Photoshop, so I'm guessing that you tweaked some of them *sorry for the relatively late response*. --Torchickens 14:29, 27 May 2011 (UTC)

Sorry about some of the last few image uploads title names. I started having fun with it after awhile. Whoever figures out where they belong on this wiki, feel free to call them by their correct names. I was told to just upload them and rather than just call them "Enemy1.png", "Enemy2.png", etc, we've got names like FroggyFroFish. Anyway, I do apologize. ▫ <span style="border: 3px solid gold; background-color:blue; "><font color="gold">Icysugarspike</font></span><span style="border: 3px solid blue; background-color:gold;">talk</span> 04:48, 28 May 2011 (UTC)
:No worries. I'll move the ones I can to more appropriate titles. You've worked very hard and uploaded them so efficiently. I'd give you an Excellence Award, but as an administrator alone, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to do that, so I'll ask The Forgotten Beast, the editor in chief. --Torchickens 02:52, 30 May 2011 (UTC)

Thanks! I uploaded artwork for Densetsu no Starfy and Densetsu no Starfy 3, although it was Kagegamer12 who uploaded the exclusive artwork for Densetsu no Starfy 2 and The Legendary Starfy. We both have the Japanese guidebooks. --Torchickens 14:04, 9 March 2012 (EST)
:I don't know of a good place to buy Japanese books, so I usually buy from the eBay seller japan-ssdyuk who have a lot of Japanese strategy guides and manga for sale. They have a variety of Capcom stuff if you're interested in buying from them for Capcom Database. Japan-ssdyuk adds scans of a few pages to his auctions, which is useful for giving a rough idea how much artwork the book has. Rakuten should be a good place in theory, because they now welcome foreign buyers and international shipping for a number of countries, but I'm not experienced in buying from then. A problem with Rakuten is that not all sellers accept selling overseas. I'm not sure of how to choose the right book for good pictures, because all game related books that I've bought online are about Starfy. I'd suggest that strategy guides and art books are a great place to find artwork in general, because it's a place for the developers to collaborate with the publishers to share any finished artwork that they designed from the development process. The amount of artwork available also probably depends on the genre of the game. A game with lots of characters and enemies will probably have lots of artwork because the developers would have likely used that artwork as a framework on how to design the sprites. In the case of The Legendary Starfy guidebooks, they all give players advice on how to complete the Toys/Trading Cards/Picture Book, with a set number of pages listing all of them. It turned out that all of the guidebooks used the characters and enemies' official artwork instead of their sprites (except the guidebook for The Legendary Starfy) which used sprites of the Toys. Another check is to see whether the franchise already has a considerable amount of artwork on the Internet. If the franchise was published by a popular video game publisher, then you could probably expect to find a good amount of artwork on the publisher's official website for the game itself. If the website already has artwork for its characters listed on the websites (as is the case for The Legendary Starfy series and many Nintendo published franchises) then its probably a hint that more artwork can be found in the guidebooks. Hope that helps you! --Torchickens 12:40, 10 March 2012 (EST)
::No problem, it's a pleasure. :) I did find the site you linked me to helpful. It seems to have a lot of the games that rarely seem to pop up on eBay, even though there doesn't seem to be anything Starfy related. Another website (other than eBay) which I have been using to purchase games online is a small site called console passion. It's nice to hear that you like Starfy. Which Starfy game did you get for the Nintendo DS, The Legendary Starfy or Densetsu no Starfy 4? --Torchickens 16:43, 10 March 2012 (EST)
:::Nice. I really enjoyed The Legendary Starfy, although I found it a little short and lacking compared to past games like Densetsu no Starfy 2. While I enjoy all games in the The Legendary Starfy series, Densetsu no Starfy 4 is actually one of my least favourite games in the series, because it seems to focus a lot on the story rather than the gameplay, and didn't seem to have as much of a cheerful vibe attached to it. The past games in the series are really import-friendly, in the way that you don't have to know any Japanese to play them, except probably the Tobira Majin riddles in Densetsu no Starfy 4 after completion of the main game, though there is a guide written by NessEggman on which options to choose. You also don't have to worry about the games being region-locked, because the Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS aren't region protected. --Torchickens 18:56, 10 March 2012 (EST) |

Re:Amiiyoshino
That's odd, are you able to upload any image at all? I'm sorry for answering on behalf of The Forgotten Beast, though I thought that I would answer your question because we both appear to be online. --Torchickens 23:28, 25 May 2011 (UTC)
- I don't really understand what the error message means either, sorry. Michael (Talk) (alias Tappy) is the one who manages the server. I just tried uploading a new file, and received the same error message as you. It appears that no one at all can upload images now on this Wiki. I suspect that it might be something to do with the localsettings.php file. I will contact Michael (Talk) (alias Tappy), and hopefully we'll be able to get the problem solved quickly. --Torchickens 00:48, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry I didn't answer sooner, anyway I have the same problem as well but I'm sure Tappy will come through, in the mean time I'll appreciate any help you can give the wiki. - The Forgotten Beast 00:55, 26 May 2011 (UTC)
Character artwork
Not at all. Thank you (very!) much for uploading these!
